The cartesian product represents the set of all ordered pairs (x,y) where both x and y are real numbers

RxR {(x,y) : x,y R}

Which represents the coordinates of all the points in two dimensional space.

Similarly cartesian product represents the set of all ordered triples of real numbers (x,y,z)

RxRxR = {(x,y,z) : x,y,z R}

Which represents the coordinates of all the points in three dimensional space.

First element in the pair of numbers is called x coordinate

The second is y coordinate

And the third is z coordinate
