Correct Question :- if Ravi stands at 1 on a real number line and he walks two step (2natural numbers) towards right. find the additivate inverse of the number where ravi stands at the last.

Solution :-

we know that,

  • Real numbers are all numbers that can be shown on a number line. This includes natural or counting numbers, whole numbers, and integers.
  • A number on the left is less than a number on the right.
  • A number on the right is greater than a number on the left.
  • The additive inverse of a number is the number that, when added to given number gives result as zero.

so,

→ Ravi stands on = 1

and,

→ He walks = 2 steps (Natural numbers) towards right .

then,

→ Position of Ravi now = 1 + 2 = 3 { as number on right is greater. }

therefore,

→ Additive inverse of 3 is = 3 + (-3) = 0 .

Hence, (-3) is the additivate inverse of the number where ravi stands at the last .
