x + y = 10 -----( 1 )
√( x/y ) + √( y/x ) = 10/3
multiply each term with ( √xy ), we get
x + y = (10/3)√xy
10 =( 10/3 )√xy [ from ( 1 ) ]
=> 10 × (3/10) = √xy
3 = √xy
square on both sides of the equation,
9 = xy
Therefore ,
xy = 9
