Roots are equal

so,

discrimination will be equal to zero

 {b}^{2}  - 4ac = 0

 {k}^{2}  - 4 \times 1 \times 3 = 0 \\  {k}^{2}  - 12 = 0 \\  {k}^{2}  = 12 \\ k =  +  \sqrt{12}  \: and \: k =  -  \sqrt{12}
