Rs 2600 is divided among three person a,b and c in the ratio 1/2: 1/3: 1/4

To Find :

How much does a gets ?

Solution:

Let the ratio be x

A's share = $\frac{1}{2}x$

B's share =$\frac{1}{3}x$

C's Share = $\frac{1}{4}x$

Total amount = 2600

So, $\frac{1}{2}x+ \frac{1}{3}x+\frac{1}{4}x=2600\\\frac{12x+8x+6x}{24}=2600\\\frac{26x}{24}=2600\\x=\frac{2600 \times 24}{26}$

x=2400

A's share =$\frac{1}{2}x=\frac{1}{2}(2400)=1200$

Hence A gets Rs.1200
