Solution :

Given secA + tanA = k ----( 1 )

_______________________

We know the Trigonometric identity:

sec²A - tan²A = 1

________________________

=> sec²A - tan²A = 1

=> (secA+tanA)(secA-tanA) = 1

=> k(secA-tanA) = 1 [ from ( 1 )]

=> SecA - tanA= 1/k
