Given,

u^{'}_2=10

u^{'}_1=3

To find,

value of u_{2}

Solution,

u_{2} = u^{'}_2 - (u^{'}_1)  ^{2}

   = 10 - (3)^{2}

   = 10 - 9

   = 1.

Therefore, the second centeral moment is equal to 1.

Given

  • second raw moment is 10
  • first raw moment is 3

To find

  • second central moment

Solution

Moments are useful terms of statistics which are mainly used to find and understand the characteristics of a distribution. moments are of two types namely, raw moments and Central moments.

we are provided with first and second raw moments and are asked to find the second Central moment which could be easily estimated from the standard equation of moments,

the equation of raw moments and Central Womens are given in the attachment.

For the sake of clarity I am taking m as raw moment and n as Central moment.

therefore,

m2 = 10

m1 = 3

n2 = ?

from the standard equation,

n2 = m2 - (m1)^2

or, n2 = 10 - 3^2

or, n2 = 10 - 9

or, n2 = 1

Therefore the second Central moment is 1
