⇒ sin^2θ + cos^2θ + 2sin θcosθ = 2

⇒ 1 + 2 sin θ cos θ = 2

we know,

sin^2 θ + cos^2 θ = 1 ...(ii)

Dividing (ii) by (i) we get

sin^2θ + cos^2θ ÷ sinθcosθ = 1 ÷ 1/2

⇒ tan θ + cot θ = 2
