sin + sin² = 1

sin = 1 - sin²

sin = cos²

squaring on both side

( sin)² = (cos²)²

sin² = cos⁴ ......( 1 )

cos² + cos⁴ = 1

taking L.H.S.

cos²+ cos⁴

= cos² + ( sin²) ....from ( 1 )

= cos² + sin²

= sin² + cos²

= 1 [ sin² + cos ² = 1 ]

= R.H.S.

L.H.S. = R.H.S.

hence ,proved
