y²-x² = the length of the third side

Then cos A = Adjacent side/ hypotenuse

So , cos A = √y²-x²/y

Then, tan A = opp/ adjacent i.e, x/√y²-x²

Therefore, cos A × tan A = √y²-x²/y × x/

√y²-x²

And we get x/y
