sin
 \sin(theta) + {sin}^{2} (theta) = 1 \\ sin(theta) = 1 - {sin}^{2} (theta) = {cos}^{2} (theta) \\ sin(theta) = {cos}^{2} (theta) \\ {sin}^{2} (theta) = {cos}^{4} (theta) \\ so \: {cos}^{4} (theta) + {cos}^{2} (theta) = {sin}^{2} (theta) + sin(theta) = 1<br />
