if solid copper sulphate crystals and iron nail are kept in a test tube ,what happens?, why?

nothing is going to happen there bcause iron will only react with copper sulphate solution

a displacement reaction takes place as Fe is more reactive than Cu.brown Cu is deposited on the iron nail and copper sulphate becomes ferrous sulphate.the green colour of the solution slowly fades away.
