therefore, x+y=10 --------(i)
x-y =4 ----------(ii)

By Elimination method,
2x=14y
x=7

Putting value in equation (i) we get,
7+y=10
y=3

therefore, x=7, y=3

so by adding both,
2x = 14
so,x=7
and y=10-7=3
