 \tan(x)  =  \frac{a}{b}  \\   \frac{ \cos(x)  +  \sin(x) }{ \cos(x) -  \sin(x)  }  \\ dividing \: throughout \: with \:  \cos(x)  \\  \\  \frac{1 +  \tan(x) }{1 -  \tan(x) }  \\  \frac{1 +  \frac{a}{b} }{1 -  \frac{a}{b} }  \\  \frac{b + a}{b - a}

This is the required answer. Hope it helps.
