Given,

tan θ = 3 / 4

To find,

tan 2θ

Solution,

Since, tan ( A + B ) =  ( tan A + tan B ) / (1 - tan A tan B)

tan ( A + A ) = ( tan A + tan A )/ (1 - tan A tan A)

Therefore,

The formula of tan 2A = 2 tan A / (1 + tan² A)

Now,

⇒   tan 2θ = 2(3/4) / ( 1 + (3/4)²  )

⇒   tan 2θ = (3/2) / (1 + 9/16)

⇒   tan 2θ = (3/2) / (25/16)

⇒   tan 2θ = (3/2) × (16/25)

⇒   tan 2θ = 24/25

Hence, the value of  tan 2θ = 24/25.
