if tanx =5/12

it means p/b = 5/12

so
b=12

and p=5

by pythagoras theorem

h^2=5^2+12^2

h^2 =25+144

h^2 = 169

h=13

cosec X = h/p

cosec X = 13/5

tan x = 5 / 12 = perpendicular / base

Find Hypotenuse :
_______________________________

by Pythagoras theorem , we get

(hypotenuse)^2

=( base)^2 + ( perpendicular)^2

(hypotenuse)^2 = ( 12 )^2 + ( 5 ) ^2

( hypotenuse )^2 = 144 + 25 =169

hypotenuse = √169 = 13

therefore ,

since we know that ,

cosec x = hypotenuse / perpendicular

cosec x = 13 / 5
