13th term = 35

solution

10th term = a + 9d = 47 .......(1)

11th term = a + 10d = 43 .......(2)

on equation 1 and equation 2 we can

subtract . then we get

d = -4

put d = -4 in equation (1)

=> a + 9(-4) = 47

=> a - 36 = 47

=> a = 47 + 36

=> a = 83

13th term = a + 12d

=> 83 + 12 (-4)

=> 83 - 48

=> 35 = answer
