3rd term = a + 2d

5th = a+ 4d

8th = a+ 7d

from given condition

(a+2d)(a+7d) = (a+4d)^2

or a^2 +9ad + 14 d^2 = a^2+8ad + 16d^2

or ad = 2d^2 or d = a/2

so the differece = a/2 and terms

nth term = a + (n-1)a/2

the 5th term = 3a

3rd term = 2a

ratio = 3/2
