Answer:

The resistance is R = 1 Ω

Explanation:

In this circuit,there are three resistance R_{1} = 3 Ω , R_{2} = 6 Ω  and R.

Now, R_{1} and R_{2} both are parallel to each other.

According to the parallel condition of resistance,we can write that

                           \frac{1}{R_{eq} }  =  \frac{1}{R_{1}} +  \frac{1}{R_{2}}

                       →  R_{eq}  = \frac{R_1 R_2}{R_1+R_2}  = \frac{3*6}{3+6}

                                                  = \frac{18}{9}  = 2 Ω

Again, R_{eq}  and R are series connection and current(I) through  the circuit is 2A  and supply voltage(V) is 6V.

Therefore,

                      R_{eq} + R = \frac{V}{I}         [Using Ohm's law,V= IR]

                   → 2 +  R = \frac{6}{2}  = 3

                  → R = (3-2) = 1 Ω  [Ans]
