If the angle of elevation of the top of a tower from two points distance a and b (a>b) from its foot and in the same straight line from its are respectively 30 degrees and 60 degrees, then find the height of the tower.

Tan 30 = h/a

So
h = a  \div  \sqrt{3}
And tan 60 = h/b
h = b \times   \sqrt{3}
Solve both equations and get
