Length of the room is 4.799 meters

Given:

The area of a rectangular room is 45 1/4 m²

Breadth of the room is 9 3/7m

To find:

The length of the room

Solution:

Given area of room = 45 1/4 m²

= 45 1/4 m² = 181/4 m²   [ 4×45 + 1 = 181 ]

And breadth of the room = 9 3/7 m

= 9 3/7 m = 66/7  m      [ 9×7 + 3  = 66 ]

Let L be the length of room

As we know area of rectangle = length × breadth

⇒ L × 66/7

From given data area of room = 181/4

L(\frac{66}{7} ) = (\frac{181}{4} )

L = (\frac{181}{4} ) (\frac{7}{66} )

⇒ L = 1267/ 264 = 4.799 meter

Therefore, Length of the room = 4.799 meters
