Given : arithmetic mean of x,x+3,x+6,x+9,and x+12 is 10

To find :  Median

Solution:

Arithmetic mean of x,x+3,x+6,x+9,and x+12 is 10

There are 5 numbers

x  , x + 3 , x + 6  , x + 9  , x  + 12

Arithmetic mean = (sum of numbers )/ total numbers

=> (x + x + 3 + x + 6 + x + 9  + x + 12)/5 = 10

=> 5x + 30  = 50

=> 5x  = 20

=> x = 4

Hence numbers are

4  , 7  , 10  , 13  , 16

Numbers are already arranged in order

there are 5 numbers

Hence median will be 3rd numbers

Hence Median = 10

Median = 10
