As we know  average is the sum of all the numbers divided by the total number.

   So 10 + 20 + 30 + 40 + x / 5 = 60

           100 + x / 5 = 60

         100 + x = 300

        x = 300 - 100

      x = 200

Given:

Numbers given = 10 , 20 , 30 , 40 , x

Aritmetic mean  AM = 60

To Find:

Find the value of x

Solution:

We know,

AM = sum of numbers/ total numbers

60   = (10+20+30+40+x)/5

100+x=300

x=300-100

x=200

Hence the value of x is 200
