f₂ = highest frequency = ?

f₁ = lowest frequency = 52 kHz

Δf = bandwidth = 5 kHz

Bandwidth is given as

Δf = f₂ - f₁

5 = f₂ - 52

f₂ = 57 kHz

Concept:

The bandwidth of a signal is the difference between the maximum and minimum frequency of a certain continuous frequency band. The Bandwidth can be calculated as:

Bandwidth(B)= Highest Frequency(fH) - Lowest Frequency (fL)

Given:

fL= 52KHz

B= 5KHz

Find: fH

Solution:

∵ B= fH - fL

⇒ fH = B +  fL

putting the values gives:

fH = 5 KHz +52 KHz

fH= 57KHz

Hence the value of the highest frequency is 57 KHz
