If the body has positive charge then it means that it has lost its negetive charge.. i.e.electrons.

If we consider with respect to a atom the it is to be expected to have more number of protons than electrons (as electrons r negatively charged and protons are positively charged)
This results the net charge that is over all charge on that atom as positive .
