If the breadth of a rectangle is increased by 5 cm, keeping its length constant, its area increases by 25
sq.cm. If the length is increased by 5 cm, keeping its breadth constant its area increases by 20 sq.cm. Find
the area of the rectangle (in sq.cm).​

Let the length be x, breadth be y

So, area=xy

now, l=x

b=y+5

area=x(y+5) =xy+5x

As per question

xy+5x-xy=25

=x=25/5=5

now, y(x+5) =xy+5y

As per question

xy+5y-xy=20

y=20/5

y=4

Area of original rectangle is 20 sq. cm.
