16 \frac{2}{3}\% \: loss

Given:

C.P of 25 chairs is equal to the S.P of 30 chairs.

To find:

Loss percent.

Solution:

Let the C.P of 1 chair be Rs.1

Then the C.P of 25 chairs = Rs.25

Now S.P of 30 chairs = C.P of 25 chairs.

Therefore, S.P of 30 chairs = Rs.25

Now, C.P of 30 chairs = Rs.30

Now, Loss = C.P-S.P

=> Rs.30-Rs.25

=> Rs.5

Loss% = loss/c.p × 100

=> 5/30 ×100

=> 100/6

=> 50/3

16 \frac{2}{3}\%

Something more related to it:

profit \:  = s.p - c.p

loss \:  = c.p - s.p

profit\% \:  =  \frac{profit}{c.p} \times 100

loss\% \:  =  \frac{loss}{c.p} \times 100

s.p \:  \: (when \: profit\% \: is \: given)  \\ = >    ( \frac{100 + profit\%}{100}) \times c.p

s.p \: (when \: loss\% \: is \: given) \\  =  > ( \frac{100 - loss\%}{100}) \times c.p

c.p \: (when \: profit\% \: is \: given) \\  =  >  \: ( \frac{100}{100 + profit\%}) \times c.p

c.p \: (when \: loss\% \: is \: given) \:  \\  =  > ( \frac{100}{100 - loss\%}) \times c.p
