This can be verified as if we will open our eyes very little then the image is formed but is blurred.

the image formed by the lens will be

(a) complete but with less brightness,

because the central portion of the lens which is painted black, will not affect to get the image but the intensity of the image will be decreased, so the image will be completed with less brightness.
