circumference of circle = 2pi r

Perimeter of square = 4d

2 pi r = 4 d  means pi r = 2 d

r = 2xd/pi

and d = pi x r/2

Area of circle = pi r² = pi x (2d/pi)² = 4 d² / pi

Area of square = d²

Therefore ratio of areas of circle to Square = 4 d² /pi : d²

4/π :1  = 4:π
