7 : 5 × 8 : x = 84 : 60

7 / 5 × 8 / x = 84 / 60

56 / 5 x = 84 / 60

56 / 84 = 5 x / 60

14 / 21 = x / 12

2 / 3 = x / 12

3x = 2 × 12 = 24

=> x = 24 / 3 = 8

therefore , required value of x = 8
