Cost price ' x ' article = selling price of

' y ' article

x < y , Loss % = [ ( y - x ) / y ] × 100

Here ,

x = 12 , y = 16

Loss % = [ ( 16 - 12 ) / 16 ] × 100

= ( 4 / 16 ) × 100

= 400/16

= 25
