Answer:60%

Step-by-step explanation:

Let the C.P of 1 chair be x

Therefore, C.P of 10 chair→10x

And C.P of 16 chair→16x

A.T.Q, S.P of 10 chair=C.P of 16 chair

→S.P of 10 chair=16x

Profit=16x-10x=6x

P%=6x/10x×100=60%

let the CP of 1 chair be 1 .

Then CP of 10 chairs = 10

Given that CP of 10 chairs = SP of 16 chairs

Then SP of 16 chairs = 10

SP of 1 chair = 10/16 = 5/8

As CP is bigger than SP , there is a loss.

Loss = CP - SP

=> 1 - 5/8

=> 0.375

Loss% = (loss / CP × 100)%

=> 0.375/1 × 100

=> 37.5 %

Hence there is a loss of 37.5%
