d) 40cm✔

______________________

Given:-

  • CSA of a cylinder is 3520cm²

  • radius of cylinder is 14cm

To Find:-

  • height of cylinder

Solution :-

  \sf \longmapsto CSA \: of \: cylinder = 2\pi \: rh \\  \\ \sf \longmapsto \: 3520cm {}^{2}  = 2 \times  \dfrac{22}{7}  \times 14 \times h \\  \\ \sf \longmapsto \: h =  \dfrac{3520 \times 7}{2 \times 22 \times 14} cm \\  \\ \sf \longmapsto \: h =  \dfrac{24640}{616}  \\  \\ \sf \longmapsto \:   \boxed{\boxed{ \bf{ \purple{h = 40cm}}}}

Therefore, height of cylinder is 40cm.

More to know:-

• Volume of cylinder = πr²h

• TSA of cylinder = 2πrh + 2πr²

• Volume of cone = πr²h/3

• TSA of cone = πr[r+√(h²+r²)]

• CSA of cone = πr[√(h²+r²)]

• Volume of hemisphere = 2/3π³

• TSA of hemisphere = 2πr²

Question

If the curved surface area of a cylinder is 3520 sq.cm and its base radius is 14 cm, then its height is ?

Solution

Curved surface area of a cylinder = 3520cm²

Base radius = 14cm

Let, it's height be h

ATP

2\pi rh = 3520 \\ = ) \: 2 \times \frac{22}{7} \times 14 \times h = 3520 \\ = ) \: 88h = 3520 \\ = ) \: h = \frac{3520}{88} = 40

Ans:- The height is 40cm.
