let the diagonals of a rhombus is a and b.

area of the rhombus = 1/2 * diagonal1 * diagonal 2

=1/2 * a * b.
now, new diagonal of rhombus = 2a and 2b.

new area of rhombus = 1 /2 * 2a *2b

=2ab.

comparing areas of both rhombus = 2ab/(1/2 ab)

=4 times.
