Given : diameter of a circle is doubled

To Find : what happens to the area

Solution:

Let say Diameter = 2R

Radius = Diamter / 2

= 2R/2

= R

area of Circle = π ( Radius ) ²

= πR²

Diameter is Doubled

=> New diameter = 2D

=> New Radius = 2D/2 = D = 2R

New Area = π ( 2R ) ²

= 4 πR²

= 4 area of Circle

Area of circle becomes 4 times if diameter is doubled
