Let the present age be X, then two years from now it will be (X + 2) and half of it is (X + 2)/2
two years ago the age will be X - 2 so the one third is (X - 2)/3
Given that the difference between half of Joy's age two years from now and one-third of his age two years ago is 7 years,
so (X + 2)/2 - (X - 2)/3 = 7
If you solve the equation, you will get
3X + 6 - 2X + 4 = 42
X + 10 = 42
X = 32
the present age is 32
PROOF--> Present age is 32 hence the age after 2 years will be 34 and half of it is '17'
age before 2 years is 30 and 1/3rd is '10'. Dif is 7
Feel free to ask, if you have any doubt in solving equation
