Given : the difference between the interest and the amount of discount, on a certain sum of money for six  months at 6% be Rs. 2.25

To Find : The Sum

(A) Rs. 2474

(B) Rs. 2575

(C) Rs. 2500

(D) Rs. 2750

Solution:

Amount = ( Difference * ( 100  + RT) * 100) /( RT)²

Difference= 2.25

R = 6 %

T = 1/2 Year

Amount = [2.25 x (100 + 6 x 1/2) x 100] / [(6 x 1/2)²]

= (225 x 103) / 9

= 25 x 103

= 2575

the sum   = Rs 2575
