12cm

Step-by-step explanation:

20^2=   16^2+breath^2

400=256+breath^2

400-256=breath^2

Diagonal= 20m

length= 16m

breadth= xm

diagonal =   \sqrt{ {(length)}^{2}   - ( {bredth)}^{2} }

on substituting-:

20m =  \sqrt{( {16)}^{2} - ( {x)}^{2}  }

on \: squaring \: on \: both \: the \: sides \\  \\    \\ 400 =  {16 }^{2}  -  {x}^{2}  \\  400 = 256 - x {}^{2}  \\ 400 - 256 =  {x }^{2}  \\ 144 =  {x }^{2}  \\ x =  \sqrt{144 }  \\ therefore \: x = 12m
