Displacement is the shortest distance between initial and the final position.Distance covered is the place covered by an object per unit time. For eg:-If an object covers a distance of 10m but it came back to its initial position, then the distance between the initial and the final position is 0 but distance covered will not be zero.
So,the statement has been proved.
Hope this helps buddy!!
