The question says that dna content in g1 phase of cell cycle is x.

The g1 phase is followed by s phase which involves in replication of dna .

So now the dna content gets doubled and it is 2x.

In metaphase of meiosis 1 the pairs of chromosomes get arranged on the metaphase plate and are attached to meiotic spindle.

There is no change in dna content at this phase.

So finally the content of dna at metaphase of meiosis 1 will be 2x.
