let the side of cube be, a
total surface area of cube = 6a^2
volume of cube = a^3
After the sides are tripled ;
TSA = 6*(3a)^2 = 54a^2
volume = (3a)^3 = 27a^3
ratio of TSA, 6a^2 / 54a^2 = 1/9 = 1:9
ratio of volumes, a^3 / 27a^3 = 1/27 = 1:27
total surface area of cube = 6a^2
volume of cube = a^3
After the sides are tripled ;
TSA = 6*(3a)^2 = 54a^2
volume = (3a)^3 = 27a^3
ratio of TSA, 6a^2 / 54a^2 = 1/9 = 1:9
ratio of volumes, a^3 / 27a^3 = 1/27 = 1:27
