if the electron configuration of hydrogen is 1 so why it has a valency of +1why not -1 as the rule of electronic configuration say that an element must have 2electrons in its innermost shell​

according to the duplet rule, the last shell must have 2 electrons and hydrogen already has one shell.

thus, it shares its electrons to form compounds.
