So you put it in discriminant form which is the route of b^2 -4ac a=x^2 b= -x and c = m^2 so you sub them in and you end up with x^2 - 4x^2xm^2 after this you factorise and take x^2 out so x^2(1-4m^2) = 0

From this if you sub in 1/2 into this equation you get 0 abd no real routes is below 0 so it has to be smaller than 1/2
