Consider a ∆ ABC in which

  • Exterior angle ∠ABD = 100°
  • Interior angle ∠ACB = 40°

Let

  • other exterior angle ∠BAC = x

We've to find the value of ∠BAC = x.

Concept :

As we know that sum of the two opposite interior angles of a triangle is equal to exterior angle.

Now, according to question :

➟ ∠ABD = ∠ACB + ∠BAC

➟ 100° = 40° + x

➟ x = 100° - 40°

➟ x = 60°

Hence, the value of other interior angle is x = 60°.

Given :

The exterior angle of a triangle measures 100° and one of the interior opposite angles is 40°

To Find :

➝ Other interior angle

Solution :

➝ Let the other angle be x

• As we know , Exterior angle of a triangle is equal to sum of two opposite interior angles .

According to the question :

➝ x + 40° = 100°

➝ x = 100° - 40°

➝ x = 60°
