If the force of attraction between the two objects of mass m1 and m2 separated by some distance is F.If the distance between them is:-

hey mate
as u have given different masses
and to find force we consider gravitational force which is F=Gm1m2/(r^2)
where r is the distance btw m1,m2
so when we double distance
force will become F/4
and when half force will become 4F
i hope u understood!!

F= G.m1.m2/r^2

Therefore if distance doubles and that is becomes 2r then new F'=G.m1m2/4r^2

Compared to F ,F'=1/4F

Similarly if r is halved F' becomes 4 times which u can get by substituting r'=1/2r
