In an eq triangle the median and perpendicular are the same forming a perpendicular bisector.

so If height is 8 cm then taking a right triangle inside the eq triangle we get

h sq = b sq + p sq

h sq = 64 + h/2 sq

64= h sq - h/2 sq

64 = 3/4 h sq

h sq=64 ×4/3

area= root 3/4 a sq

root 3 /4 × 64 ×4/3

=root 3 21.3
