If the Himalayas weren't situated where they are now,the climatic conditions of India would be drastic.

1. India would turn into tropical desert because of no monsoon climate.

2. No perennial rivers due to this great plains of fertile land turn into barren lands.

3.The great plains of India would be affected by the cold winds of central Asia during severe winter.

4. The Himalayas are the reason for summer rain and monsoon type of climate in regions that are beyond the Western Ghats of India. In it's absence, this region would have remained drier.
