If the image of the point (3, 8) in the line px + 3y – 7 = 0 is the point
(–1, –4), then find the value of p.

taking x= -1 y= -4 (since it is a solution of eq. px+3y-7=0)
p(-1) + 3(-4) - 7 = 0
-p -12 -7 = 0
-p = 19
p = -19
