Question :

If the length and breadth of a rectangle are doulbled, how many times the perimeter of the old rectangle will that of the new reatangle be?

Answer :

Perimeter will also double

Explanation :

let the original length and breadth b 1 cm and 1 cm respectively.

so perimeter = 2 × ( l + b )

= 2 × ( 1 + 1 )

= 2 × 2

= 4 cm

now the length and breadth are doubled so length is 2 cm and breadth is 2 cm

so perimeter = 2 × ( l + b )

= 2 × ( 2 + 2 )

= 2 × 4

= 8 cm

new perimeter is double of original perimeter.
