d be the diagonal respectively as shown in fig

by Pythagoras theorem

d^2 = l^2 + b^2

= (10^2) + (20^2)

= (100 + 400)

d^2 = 500

taking square root of both sides, we get

therefore

length of diagonal d = 22.36 cm
